Agile Project Management

I have just finished this book
this book by David J. Anderson and it was truly a breakthrough for me. It enabled me to go beyond the religious feeling of Agile to management science and why Agile methods work. Sometimes. It also lead me to finally understand what my company’s business is !

My book list just got longer by adding Domain Neutral Component, Theory of Constraint and Feature Driven Development to it.

And I encourage everyone to read the excellent CMMI-Agile article as well as another one on negotiations (both through David J. Anderson’s blog).

One of the best insights from David’s book is the introduction to Theory of Constraints. Follow the Goldratt!

    Hi Erik,

Any thoughts on what I should start with ?

    I was considering

Goldratt’s Theory of Constraints: A Systems Approach to Continuous Improvement by Dettmer,
The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement bu Goldratt and Cox
    and
    Throughput Accounting by Corbett.

Start with “The Goal”. It’s in novel form and a fast read. Then you can either go to the follow-up novels (It’s Not Luck, Critical Chain) or the more technical titles you listed, depending on your taste.

Thanks, I will order the goal shortly ;)
